Music

The music program at Lincoln Elementary School is designed to teach the students about the general concepts of music: rhythm, melody and harmony, form, instrumentation, and much more. The students, regardless of age or ability, will learn theses concepts through interactions such as singing, dancing, clapping, and playing instruments.

When the students are in sixth grade, they may join orchestra and band programs.  They will be given weekly lessons at Lincoln.  Those students also practice three times a week before school at the junior high from 7:45 to 8:45 and receive a bus ride back to Lincoln after their practices.

Fifth and sixth grade students may also be a part of the fifth and sixth grade chorus.  These students practice after school once a week at Bertha Frank.  They will get a ride from Lincoln, but must be picked up after the practice. All three groups give at least 2 concerts per year.

Other elementary performance programs at Lincoln include the following:

  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd holiday program (usually the beginning of December)
  • 4th and 5th grade recorder and other added instrument program (usually in February)
  • 6th grade musical/play (usually the end of October)

Music is a fun, educational, and interactive program at Lincoln Elementary School.
